19th July 2019
Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: F2 - F4
Surf / Sea State: Lumpy
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: Sunny / cloud
Max Speed: 22.8 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 6.8 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Forecast was good for Felixstowe dip but was wind with tide so always was going to be trying to stay high. On arrival several out with big kit.
Started rigging what the guys said 7.8 but at times seems too much and other Times not enough so after attempting to rig 8.5 decided to wait and watch. The wind was up/down and tide running fast. In the lulls some lost a few groynes and sea wind horrible. Went for 7.8 and Bolt 135 and went off beach OK but by the river the wind completely dropped, bollocks! Fell in and waited in water start position for ages. Had a few gusts and nearly made the waterstart a few times so kept trying. Uphauling the 135 in big sea is a struggle so didn't bother to try. The lads said I had drifted a long way but didn't really notice it.
Eventually crawled up and crawled back but ended up downwind in kite zone, where the lads kindly offered to walk the kit back. However the wind was back so sailed right out to sea to get a good beat line.
The wind freshened as I reached back to the dip, so now I was overpowered! Bollocks. Decided to quit whilst I was ahead and call it a day, heading for a long steam at the spa.
Hate poxy Felixstowe sea at high tide. Dont know why I even went!
A couple of sailors turned up late and had a great time on 6m ish sails, and sea look better as the tide went out.
